I'm trying to settle on a book for the adult book club I run at my library. Problem is they and I have somewhat divergent tastes in literature... and in general they tend towards being slightly more conservative in content (for example, I really want to do The Danish Girl... but it wouldn't likely go over well). For Oct I want to do something with some level of suspense or creepiness (but horror is not an option).
Has anyone here read The Talented Mr. Ripley? Would you recommend it to a stereotypical book club?
