i decided to try out a new layout option on the blog.  failed to realize some of the changes (though fixing widgets is whatever).  not exactly happy with the results.  ugh.

 

*edit* i've changed things a bit, still have some more to do, and there's some I can't fix, but i think things are largely OK now (and let's be honest, an overhaul was long coming).  biggest annoyance right now is that it insists in inserting a "more" menu in the middle of my page listing even when they're all showing.
