Cute and amusing, quick light read. Sort of like eating popcorn.More Steampunk by association than any sort of retro-futurist immersion. You've got corsets, steam engines, dirigibles, and aether, but largely as decorative set pieces. I'd recommend reading this as a cute romance novel with corsets rather than for its steampunk qualities. I did however enjoy the ongoing arguments about whether a corset should be worn over ones clothes or under them.
