Silver Metal Lover - Tanith Lee

This was flat out an utterly phenomenal book. Tanith Lee has a strong and engaging writing style that is starkly different from the common voice found in YA literature. The story stays tightly within its first-person narrative, with defined knowledge barriers that the the narrator cannot escape.Jane may be emotionally immature, dangerously obsessive, but so is the world around her. She lives in a world of empathic disconnect and emotional hyperbole. She barely survives her first steps into self-discovery and independence, but in the end beings the growth out of the perpetual adolescence surrounding of her class roots.
