Red Rising - Pierce Brown

there is a fine line between enough jargon and slang to set a scene and going overboard.  I'm a little worried that this book is indulging in completely unnecessary jargon to paint the scene (like horizonTram... I'd that really necessary?).  read good older sci fi, new concepts are introduced and explain themselves, such as the idea of an ansible (thank you Ursula LeGuin), and mundane differences are worked in subtilty.  there needs to be a reason for the new words.
